Services
We coordinate a multidisciplinary team of experts to develop an individualized treatment strategy. Patients are usually seen within a week and undergo a complete evaluation with the multidisciplinary team consisting of specialists in hematology oncology, surgery, radiation oncology, and others in one day so that treatment can begin as quickly as possible.

Advanced Treatments
We offer the latest, most effective approaches to surgical care, innovative medical therapies, latest radiation oncology, advanced diagnosis and treatment of gynecologic cancers such as:

Advanced Diagnostics

  • PET, PET/CT and MRI
  • Molecular Imaging - New infrared imaging techniques uses a novel approach to identify microscopic ovarian tumors. This will enable clinicans to determine which patients need additional therapy after initial treatment and may allow laraoscopic evaluation of novel therapeutics to monitor patients' responses to treatment.
  • Image-Guided Interventional Procedures
    • Ultrasound-guided transvaginal biopsy
    • Ultarsound-guided transvaginal abscess drainage
    • Sonohysterography

Gynecologic Cancer Surgery

  • Fertility-Sparing Cervical Surgery - This approach offers hope to younger patients who want to preserve their reproductive capability.
  • Prophylactic Surgieres for High-Risk Patients - For women who are at high risk of ovarian cancer and are actively involved in the national study which includes CA125 & TVUS screening.
  • Cytoreduction Techniques for Longer-Term Survival - To achieve complete cytoreduction surgery safely and effectively including intestinal and upper abdominal surgery to remove all gross cancer.

Innovative Medical Therapies

  • Intraperitoneal Chemotherapy (IP) - Prolongs survival for women with advanced ovarian cancer
  • Anti-Angiogenesis Therapies - We are studying a larger number of first-in-class novel agenets for potential use in ovarian cancer and new ways to use Avastin.
  • Cancer Immunotherapy - An approach whereby patients are vaccinated with their own modified tumor cells to bolster the body's response to cancer therapies.
  • Innovative Therapies for Drug Resistant Tumors - We are developing new, targeted therapies while trying to boost chemotherapy.
  • Acupuncture - We offer acupuncture therapy with conventional treatments to assist in reducing the discomfort of side effects.

Latest Radiation Oncology Options

Support & Coping
We understand that gynecologic cancer has an impact not only on a woman’s physical health, emotional well-being, and her children and family members. We provide patients, family members, and friends with access to a wide range of services, many of which are unique to the Cancer Center.

At the current time, we offer a Gynecological Cancer Support Group for patients with ovarian, uterine/endometrial or cervical cancer diagnosis. For additional information on all of the support groups and workshops, please view the HOPES calendar.
