The Boston College medical staff were called upon to take care of and immobilize one of the Boston College football players after a violent hit during the November 11th game against Virginia Tech. Due to their quick action, the athlete got the care he needed and made a full recovery. Head BC Football coach Jeff Hafley (pictured center) was so impressed by the high level of care and expertise that he awarded game balls to the medical team, including Mass General Brigham Sports Medicine team member Robert Nascimento, MD, (pictured second from the left), head team physician and medical director for Boston College.
